THE OTHER
SIDE OF THE BED

A Journey Through Forbidden Love, Heartbreak, and Healing

ABOUT THE BOOK

For more than two decades, Nia lived in the quiet tension between hope and heartbreak—loving a man who could never fully choose her. The Other Side of the Bed is a raw, unfiltered memoir about forbidden love, emotional cycles, and the quiet breaking that happens when you give someone everything, even when they belong to someone else.

It’s not a story about villains.

It’s a story about what love looks like when it’s real… but not right.

For anyone—woman or man—who has ever waited for someone who wasn’t free…

For anyone who has loved in silence…

For anyone who has forgotten themselves trying to save someone else…

This book is your mirror.

This book is your healing.

This book is your permission to choose you.

A glimpse into Nia's first fall...

Chapter 1 - The Meet

Florida 2001

I didn’t know that a simple job interview would become the starting point of one of the most complicated love stories of my life. I walked into that building nervous, fresh from New York, carrying a past I didn’t talk about and a heart that had already been bruised more times than I cared to admit.

I wasn’t looking for love.

I wasn’t searching for a man.

I just needed a job. A new beginning.

And there he was.

Not smiling too hard.

Not trying too much.

Just watching. Quiet. Observing.

The kind of man you don’t realize is dangerous because he isn’t loud with it.

He doesn’t chase.

He doesn’t beg.

He just waits.

And somehow, before I even understood what was happening, my life had shifted.
